The Artist
Renee grew up in rural Jamaica. She came to photography later in life, but when she found it, it felt like something she had always known.
Based between New York and New Jersey, Renee is a self-taught photographer whose work moves between portraiture, self-portraiture and the quietly observed moments of travel; always searching for the moment where an image becomes something more than an image.
Her work has taken her across the world. Exhibiting in Italy, France and Barcelona. Shows across New York and beyond. A recent appearance at Art Expo New York — one of the largest fine art expos in the country. An honorable mention in the prestigious Julia Margaret Cameron Awards. Renee is also a proud membership of Black Women Photographers — a global community of some of the most important and talented image makers working today.
Jamaica gave her the eye. Photography gave her the voice. The world is starting to listen.
